Shade Plants and
Ferns
In our shade area you'll find a
marvelous selection of ferns and plants for shade.
For spring and summer bloom, be sure
to consider Hydrangeas. Our selection includes many of the newest
hybrids as well as unusual Hydrangea species.
Loropetalum has resurged in popularity
with the introduction of many new varieties with varying shades of
foliage color and form.
You'll also find foliage plants such
as Aspidistra, Aucuba, and Ternstroemia.
Interestingly, many of the shrubs for
shady and partially shaded areas are fragrant. Look for Night Blooming
Jasmine, Choisya ternata, Murraya paniculata, Carissa (Natal Plum) and Gingers.
For contrast, look for the many
varieties of Liriope. They provide a "spiky" effect which
combines well with ferns.
